How many have the 18mm rotary cutter and do you use it much? I'm pretty new to quilting and am trying to decide if I want to put one of these on my wish list for christmas. I don't want to get one then not use it. I have 2 of the 45mm rotary cutters and love them. Help!!!!!!!!!!! please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you mean the 28mm size? I haven't heard of the 18mm.
What kind of quilts and what size pieces do you typically cut? I have the 28mm size and find that it is best suited for
paper piecing because of the small fabric pieces. By the way,I don't do much paper piecing.

I use my 45mm I've never bought the other one I also have a 60mm one but tend to use the 45mm every day. I've only been quilting myself for a couple of yrs. If you look at most class supply lists they pretty much all say bring a 45mm blade to class

There is an 18mm blade I don't know what you'd use it for though its really small

Yes there is an 18mm Olfa rotary cutter.
I am finding the 28mm very useful and am using it for most cutting except multiple layers. Works great for one or two layers and possibly 3 or 4.

I bought the 18mm cutter thinking it would work for a circular template I have. It didn't work because the screw holding the blade is so low that the blade won't fit next to the edge of the template. I never use it.

I have a 28mm and a 60mm, and use the 28mm for almost everything I cut. Someday I'll treat myself to a 45mm, but only so I can use the decorative edge blades for art quilts. I really, really want a circle cutter, but Santa has forgotten where I live so it'll be awhile before I see one of those.

If you think you'd like a smaller cutter than what you have now, you might want to consider the 28mm instead of the 18mm. I love the control I have with it and it easily cuts curves, too.

I just bought the 18mm cutter today and am using it to cut the wedges for my Christmas table topper. I'm cutting around the shape that I traced on to the template plastic sheeting. It is working okay for that but I CAN see that it wouldn't work with the regular plastic template since they are thicker.

The smallest I have is the 28mm and I only use it for cutting curves.

The 18 was supposed to make it possible to cut tight curves. I found it to be almost useless. I perferd sissors over that tiny cutter. I have three cutters 60, 45 and 28 ... use the 60 the most !
