I'm making some Kindle cases for my friend. I did one as the E-Reader from Atkinson. The second, I started as a Bookkeeper from the Moda Bakeshop. Well, I don't like how there's no way to close the flap, and I know my friend would appreciate it. But of course, I didn't think of this until I'm at the point where the binding is going on. What would be an easy way to add a closure? I was thinking just velcro with a decorative ribbon on the front to hide the stitching, but I know she'll be using this at work, and I'm not sure she wants everyone to hear the velcro every time she opens the bookkeeper up. At this stage of the game, how would you all recommend I add a way to secure the front flap?

the elastic hair holders make good loops with a button.

I would love to do a loop and button. I've sewn the honey bun strips to the batting, put the lining on the other side and sewn the line where they'll be a fold, so I don't honestly know if I'm too late for the loop and button. These two cases are the first time I've ever followed a pattern (I'm still pretty new to this!), and I haven't been able to find a variation that shows this. That's why I had to stop yesterday and walk away for a breather. I just didn't know how to move forward with that idea....

I would just put a button hole in the top flap and put a big, chunky button under it. Here is a link to the pattern. Thinking this would be fun to make for my niece for her Nook.

you could still attach a flat loop of matching material to the top of the flap, and then stitch a button on top of that to match the button you are going to use to close the bag.

I made the one from Modabakeshop and didn't use a closure. It doesn't need one, it stays closed on it's own. I love mine.

Not knowing what the cover looks like could you use a frog closure? They can be found with the buttons at JoAnns and they're very decorative.
