I should add that I cannot bring up videos on my computer because we live in the country and don't have that good of service. Bet I'm not alone. I was hoping for a printed tutorial, with pictures, perhaps.

The first two patterns are from the Jelly Roll quilts books by Pam and Nicky Lintott.

The first one is 8" finished blocks, so for it you cut two rectangles that are 8.5" long and two that are 4.5" long. These will be the outer "box" of the block. So you cut those from all 40 strips and then use the remainder fabric to just make 4-patch blocks. Then you sew the 4.5" rectangles to each side of the 4-patch, and the 8.5" rectangles to the remaining sides of the 4-patch. That gives you the 8.5" blocks that you then lay out in a 5 x 8 grid and sew all together. Easy!

The second one is a french braid where you cut the strips up into rectangles (the length depends on how wide you want the braid to be). You then just but one end up against the side of another, sew it together, and repeat, making a braid. After that, trim the edges to make it a column, and then join the columns together. It looks best to have darks on one side of the column, and lights on the other side of the column.

The last one is a from a pattern that went around here on the board. Just sew all the strips end to end. Then cut it in half and sew those two looooong strips together. Cut that in half and repeat until it makes the rectangular top. Again, easy!

That fabric is called "Cranberry Wishes" by Kansas Troubles. The pattern is from the jelly roll quilts book by Pam and Nicky Lintott.
