Thinking Outside the Block log cabin is awesome for black and whites with a third color thrown in. Or the 10 minute block, again with a third color.

How about doing a "search" on this board for black and white. Many show up. Also, add red or green with the black and white search. I have a few book marked.

Ditto. My son requested the exact same thing--but with the majority of it being blacks. I am anxious to finish reading this thread and hopefully some will give us some great suggestions.

If you don't want to get away from the black and white, what about a good deep gray for an additional color--------------tone on tone if you could find it.

This is just a basic rail fence out of all kinds of black and white prints with random bright color triangles appliqued on. If she is up for a bit of color, this might be fun.

I did a turning twenty from one of her later books. I used all greys with just one red block, for my DGS. I love the way it turned out. I have been collecting black/whites too. Don't know yet what I will do with them. Am thinking of adding something out of the box (for me), purple, orange, or green for just a touch of color.
