Default 3 day workshop with Sue Spargo!

Oh what a weekend, I just completed a 3 day workshop with Sue Spargo and I am just so entranced with this new world that has been opened up to me.

Sue came up here to the Yukon for the first time and I'm crossing my fingers she will be back.

I've been a needleworker for more then half my life. I've only been quilting about 3 years now and I've jumped right in learning all I can, taking classes, trying out new things. Any chance I get, I've tried incorporating my love of needlework into my quilting, I even put rabbit fur on one wall quilt!

But I have never worked with wool and velvet before. OH MY!!! I may have found my calling, how much fun is it to work with these materials.

Our project this weekend was a sewing needlecase...it's quite large and not one of us finished it LOL. But we did get a lot done and I will finish this.

I did stock up on wool and velvet and threads and beads too. Now I have to find a Canadian shop that stocks this stuff. Anyone know of any?

If you haven't had the chance to take a class with Sue Spargo, I would definitely recommend it if the opportunity arises, she has such a wealth of knowledge and has really found a way to make a living doing what she loves. How cool.

BTW, she brought several of her quilts including her Crimson quilt (Christmas quilt). Oh that one made my heart pitter patter.

I'll try and get some pics loaded in the next couple of days.

I do hope to see photos. I am just redoing my sewing room so my fabric has been boxed up for a while now. Today I got the wool pieces put away. I have some wool, not a whole lot. I thought, as I was touching it and putting it away, "Oh these colors are so pretty and it feels soooo nice. I really need to do something with this." Still not sure what. Not sure I have enough patience and good eyesight to do beads on anything. Please remember to post photos. I would love to see what your are making.
