Our county has an endowment fund set up many years ago. we are able to send several kids to state and national events every year. We also make sure no child is denied the opportunity to join due to financial issues.
The economy and state/local budget cuts have really hurt the program in many areas. we are fortunate that our county commissioners are big supporters of 4H and are commited to keeping 4h in our county.
If you believe in this program please support it. (DH and I are both advisors and active in other areas of 4H in our county.)

I started 4-H as a 9-year old and my career as a sewer took off. My four daughters were all in 4-H, and now my grandkids are all in 4-H showing pigs! The climax of the summer is the county fair and watching the grandkids show their pigs (sometimes it's the pigs who show the kids....LOL), hoping to get a grand champion.
