Default 4-Patch Ideas?

Okay, so I've pulled my 1600 quilt top down completely (unsewed between every fourth row, cut each piece into 2.5 inch segments, then unsewed further into 2 patches). I know, I know - crazy - but that's me - lol. I just did not like the way the top looked, so I figured I'd sew it all into 4-patches. Now I need some ideas on a good pattern to use them in. Suggestions? Links? Thanks!

I love that! Do you have a photo of the finished top?

You would have to read through the post - I'm not the one that posted the idea. I do think someone made one and posted it to that thread.

I doubt I could do that with these; they're all made from 2.5 inch squares, so are pretty small to begin with.

Sometimes just adding a simple white or black sashing between the new blocks does the trick. Or, just look up here under the pictures heading. Scrappy quilts. You'd be surprised how much inspiration you can find there. (Saw one where they sewed together several squares, then cut kites out of them and appliqued them onto a light blue background and sashed those squares. You could even alternate hot air balloons and kites. Could be really cute!
