Hi ! I am doing my first quilt. I chose a Flying Geese pattern. I did the flying geese "squares" fairly well. Found out cutting is the most impotant step, next time I will have to try much harder. My problem is sewing the squares together. My machine will not start on the edge. It either bunches up or just stays at the edge. I have a Singer Ingenuity. Is there a secret someone has for my delema. If I can get the hang of quilting better I plan to buy a better machine but no idea what kind yet.
    Thank you.

Use leaders and enders...that is use a small piece of scrap fabric before you
start sewing and after you finish sewing your block. You will save on thread
also as you are not pulling a long length every time.

Oops looks like we posted at the same time. LOL

yep, and I also grab both thread ends and slightly pull as the fabric starts going under the foot.
