Default Needle Suggestions for Piecing

Just purchased some YLI Soft Touch piecing thread. Its 60/2 all cotton. Would you stay with an 80/12 size Microtex needle or drop down to a 70/10 size needle?

Does it give any recommendations? I've noticed that Superior Thread puts a recommendation on all threads they sell. they have begun recommending a top stitch needle for piecing.

Using the 70 needle with 60 wt thread will make your seams thinner.

I can use thinner seams the way I sew. Thanks for the responses.

I would also use a size 70/10 with 60 wt thread.
