Default 50 state birds/flowers embroidery pattern

I need the instructions for the layout of this pattern. My cousin has made the blocks before she died and I want to complete this quilt for her son. She started puting the rows together. So I'm not sure the order they need to go.
Thanks for any help . Willie

I have not done one, nor do I have a pattern so I may not be the best person for this. But does there have to be a specific order that they go in. I would just keep the state with the state bird, then either lay them out in one of two different arrangements. One would be to alphabetize them and the other one would be in the order that they were created as states. I guess if you want a third option, then lay them out how ever you think they look good together.

Can not wait to see how it turns out.

google "state bird embroidery quilt" and you will get the picture of an Amish quilt.

I made this quilt years ago for my daughter and put the Minnesota state block on top and arranged the rest of the blocks in alphabetically order. Becasue we are from Mn. I put that block on top and filled the rest of the row with plain fabric and quilted a design in it.

I would just lay them out randomly in a color pattern that's pleasing to you. Then the quilt can be used for "I spy" sort of games where you search for the state or bird, rather than having them laid out in a predictable way.

are the blocks done on point or can they be put straight across and down? that makes a difference.
