The kalidoscope quilts by Donna Jordan and Eleanor Burns need a 60 deg ruler. Do not confuse with a tri-rec 60 deg! They are not the same. If you like triangles, I'd recommend adding a 60 deg ruler to your supplies.

I made my grandson this quit using the 60 degree also known as rhombus shape. This particular template is the large size at Missouri Star. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h17ta6t_K-8 It was easy. He loved the big stars made from different colors of blue batiks with white background.

I like the Clearview Super 60 ruler, which allows cuts of 30, 60, and 120 degrees.

The Creative Grids ruler was designed by Krista Moser, there are 2 sizes, I have both. She has a website www.kristamosier.com where you will find her patterns and rulers for purchase. You can find tutorials by her on YouTube and at Fat Quarter Shop. I just finished Entangled Sky pattern and have Semaphore Stripes ready to start. Also be sure to check out her blog and tutorials on her website.
