I know this topic has been discussed several times. However I can not find an answer,
Would it be safe to use a couple of sheets of Acid Free White card stock paper to wrap fabric on? I am looking for an inexpensive way and I can not seem to find a comic store in my area. I really do not want to pay the s&h to buy online

Is comic board alot thicker than regular card stock paper?

I just fold all of mine in a standard 9" wide by whatever it comes out in length.

I take my 24" ruler and wrap it around it (6 1/2") then I pull the ruler out and fold it in half and I have a consistent stack 6.5" x 11"

You can also get the comic book cards on Amazon....like $11 for a package of 100. I suspect that will be cheaper than a few sheets of AFCSP.

I would think card stock is nowhere near stiff enough to wrap fabric around. It's only the thickness of a greeting card.

Foam core would work and comes archival, but it's not cheap and can be hard to cut. Mat board comes archival (you have to ask for it) and is easy to cut, but it's quite expensive.

The comic book boards that everyone is so fond of are only archival on one side so wrapping fabric around them is really the same as non-archival cardboard.

I'd say the least expensive and most practical way is to fold the fabric with nothing inside that you just have to remove anyway when you want to cut it.

I'd either do a special folding so I would know at a glance how much fabric there is or wrap around one of my rulers.

I'm tooooo thrifty to buy something. Plus it would also take up some room I wouldn't want to waste on non-fabric.

Same for me, but I use my 6x12 ruler. With all the fabrics folded the same, I can fit two full rows of it in the wire drawers I use for storage (sorted by color). Nothing extra to buy.
