Instead of replying to all the threads on the ads members are having show up lately, I decided to create a new thread so everyone hopefully will see it. If you go to:

    http://simple-adblock.com/

You will be able to download & stop all ads from showing up on any and all websites you may visit.

Hope this helps you out. I installed this on my computer quite a long time ago and I have no problems whatsoever with ads on any websites.

I never paid anything and it's been on my computer for well over a year or so. I thought there was a free version? Could be wrong and if so let me know and I will try and find it for everyone.

What do you mean? Like the ads on the top and bottom of this website?

If you use Chrome or Firefox, you can just use Adblock Plus. I haven't seen an ad in years.
    And yes, totally free :)

Yes...I highly recommend it. If you want to see ads, of course, that is sad, and don't use it, but I HATE the distraction of the ads.

Sometimes they flicker and move and are really annoying!

I've been using Firefox with Adblock for years. I didn't know it was available for Chrome. Gotta go check that out!

Did you enable it? Did you subscribe to a list? Is there a little red stop sign in the upper right corner of your browser?
Don't worry, we'll get it figured out!

    I don't know!
There is a red ABP box up there.
I went back and restarted my machine then I think I tried to download again. Still not doing what I think it is supposed to be doing.

If the little red stop sign thing is in the upper right, you got it. If you put your cursor over that little sign, it should say 'status: adblock plus is enabled'. Yes?
Then, just after that 'filter subscription'?

    I got that!
    Now what?
click on the red sign and the 'preferences'.
A 'filter rules' box should pop up, and down a little it should say 'filter subscriptions'. Which does it say you have or does it say nothing?

Could it be something simple? When I got mine I had to exit out of the internet then restart it for it to kick in.

Ah-ha! You just need to ad a supscription - it doesn't know what to block yet because you haven't told it :)

Go here: http://easylist.adblockplus.org/en/ and click 'add easy list to adblock plus'
