Firm called Ecolux sells them in various configurations - from the old Singer Featherweight to large throat machines.
They can be pricey, but do have a separate connector. You can buy just the lights and switch the power source from machine to machine. Fairly sturdy. I have some for both the Pfaff and the PQ1500. I sold one of my Pfaffs and left the lighting strip on. Lady that bought the machine ordered just the power supply and is delighted.

These are very similar to the Inspired LED brand, but are much more expensive. The Inspired LED are only $30, compared to about $75-80 for a comparable size of the Ecolux brand.

Would they work over a pull out drawer for a computer keyboard?? I bought some Stick N Click but the space is too small. Might put one under the phone.

LED lights are long lasting...many years. If they did burn out, you could simply replace the lighting strip and use the existing cords.

Here are the FAQs

They probably would. They are very low profile, and don't get hot. The customer service is great and they are very quick to respond to emails and calls. The also do custom setups with minimal extra charges. If you describe what you want, they will probably be able to come up with a solution for you.

I will have to consider this. The Ecolux brand was too pricey for me.

Looks very interesting. My question - do you need a set for every sewing machine or can you move it around?

Do the cords get in the way?

I ordered these. You will also need a 12-Volt DC power source.
