Default How to use dual top threads in a Handi Quilter Avante

I was told when I bought my machine that it was capable of using dual top threads simotaniously for the purpose of decorative threading.
I have yet to find any information regarding how to actually thread the machine, or if there are any special things I need to set or adjust on the machine such as specific needle size etc.
Does anyone have any information that might be useful? I have posted to the HQ web site and have gotten zero input from their experts.

I'm not familiar specifically with the HQ, but all machines I've seen with dual thread capability will have a second post that can be inserted on the top of the machine for a second spool. The manual shows that your second spool holder is optional, and it also says, on page 14: 1. An optional horizontal spool pin is available for metallic and specialty threads wound on a spool (not a cone).
2. The horizontal spool pin mounts on the laser stylus guide post on the top of the machine (see Figure 14).
