Got a Babyville Boutique book from JoAnn's. Most of the patterns look complicated and not very practical. Has anyone make them and used them? If so, which patterns work the best?

I've neither made nor used them, but I did notice a display at JoAnn's. It was not with the fabric, but near the buttons and zippers. Perhaps seeing a finished product would help understand the instructions.

I use PUL to make large washable potty pads for dogs. I run an Italian greyhound rescue, and they will do just about anything to avoid going outside in inclement or cold weather.

Joann's PUL fabric is often printed BACKWARD. The outside of the fabric should be soft, not plasticky, and Joann's frequently has the plasticky side out. You can find it also online, and on places like etsy.

My daughter uses PUL on her diapers that she designed and sells. They are wonderfully waterproof. She used a plastic snap that she applies with a special machine. They NEVER pull out.

PUL is polyurethane laminated fabric- it is easy to work with and makes great waterproof diaper covers. I made diapers and covers for my first grandbaby a few years ago. There are many free patterns on the internet- here are a few.
