changing quilt kits
#1
I recently bought a quilt kit for a cute lap-sized baseball themed quilt. Got it at my local quilt shop. It was well-cut, beautifully coordinated - everything good. Then the problems began ... didn't want lap size - wanted twin bed size. So I've been back twice to get more material and now have spent more than if I had just bought two kits in the first place!
So ... buyer beware - if you're going to change up a kit think about how much you'll be changing it before you leave the store!
Or is the lesson - use kits "as is" without monkeying around with them???

I hate when this happens! Too many times I have bought some fabric and decided not to get too much or not to get the coordinating pieces only to kick myself later because I am either short fabric or cannot find anything to go with what I did buy. Perhaps we need to go to some sort of AA type meetings? I'll meet you and the first Karen there. Hey, your middle name isn't Karen by any chance? If so, maybe it is just a "Karen" thing. <From another Karen>

Nope - not Karen. "Louise" actually. Always hated it growing up. Was tempted to make it my daughter's middle name though - because I adored the grandmother I was named for, but ... couldn't saddle her with a name I couldn't stand.
But ... not Karen.
