Mary,

I only get on in the evenings after work and by than it is hard to say how far down the posts are. I am usually too tired and try to look as far back as I can, but tend not to post on every quilt, but I do try to look at all the quilts and dream that I can only do as good as some of them are made.

Maybe it's the time of day you post. I just went into your screen-name to see your picture posts and I had not viewed *any* of them. I don't open every picture post I see, but I usually open quite a few of them, so I'm surprised I never happened on one of yours.

Incidentally, I *love* the Alfie baby quilt!

Don't feel bad - my last post with pictures got NO responses. I was a little surprised, but my feelings are not hurt. I just assume I didn't put a catchy enough subject on it! There were a lot of other things posted that day, too.

The number of people on this board has mushroomed in the last year, and a lot of the 'old' familar names don't pop up as often as they used to. I'm thinking it's not because they're not posting - it's because so many other people are posting. That's a GOOD thing, because there even more interesting things to read here than a year or 2 ago, because there are so many more quilters posting. IMHO.

It is not you!!! As other's have said, if there is a lot of pictures in one day or if you post when it's late at night or not many people are on it won't get a lot of responses etc. I have had many posts that have had only a couple of comments and others that have had 6 or 7 pages.

I look at the pictures that are posted, but I rarely post on them. I have to get some things done in the house, and there just aren't enough hours in the day to post on every picture shown.

If you look at the other posts, there are quite a few with one or two pages of comments, and it is neither just newbies nor just oldies who have to deal with that. I spend a bit of time on the QB and did not see a single one of your posts. (You do really nice work BTW)

Don't look at the QB as a popularity contest. We are all here to support each other and if you got 2 pages of positive comments, that's a nice support.

If you are more concerned about building a relationship with fellow QB members, you may try your own thread on the PDA section, but even there, you have to BUILD a relationship. I have few PDA "friends" where I check in regularly. Most of the members I don't.

Just enjoy the board and rejoyce in the fact that you fit in with the rest of us.

I do understand though - the last picture I posted got exactly ONE response so I wondered if the project wasn't worthy? I had posted it as a work in progress and then posted it completed so maybe our forum family was telling me they were tired of it? Or just maybe... it was a time when either a lot were posting so it was hard to get to everyone or ... very few were posting and it got buried before people saw it. Perhaps it's just happened that your posts have been at times when some lively discussion was taking up the general interest?

So ... I too have wondered about this. Try not to read too much into it. What surprised me the most was how much it bothered me! And I'm one that thinks it's funny when a picture has 27 "Beautiful" comments on it!
There is a logical reason for this. I only look at unread topics. If I look at it when you first post it, I won't see it listed again when you update it. Because I have already read it! I stopped posting "Beautiful" on all the pictures because of the posts complaining about too many of the comments. They thought it was just being done to get the posts up to be a regular.

So I guess I can't win!!!! Never meant to hurt anyone's feelings and I am sorry you both felt this way. Guess I'll start commenting again. (At least until the complaints start again!!!)♥♥♥

I think all of us are way too busy, way too rushed, never enough time......I know I would love to look at everything on here, everyday............esp the pictures.......but I just dont have the time...that is probably what has happened with yours too........and even if you have time to look, you dont have time to do any comments, etc....please dont feel hurt or unloved......we, as quilters, can always appreciate the things everyone makes !!

Mary, it's not anything you are doing wrong. I usually go straight to Recent Topics, it averages about 4-5 pages. Then I head to Unread Topics and two hrs. have just flown by. I haven't even made it to Home and the list of main, pictures, BOM, Intro, etc. yet. I think because pictures is one of the busier section the topics drop down the list pretty fast.I am guilty of looking at your post on your DH's cousins wedding quilt and not commenting, when I saw it ,my first thought was " whooo, how pretty ,love the colors, nice quilting, I bet they loved it and then the label, wow , love the embroidered vine & leaves and thought I need to bookmark/save to faves on this one.I saved it to my faves.Sorry I didn't let you know how much I liked it. And the quilt for Alfie is precious, love the fabric and your colors. I think sometimes I am so intent on not missing anything and seeing ( x) amount before I get off that I forget to comment in my haste. And I have had post with low views and comments, and admit I have wondered if anyone would notice if I quit posting, but have also thought , well I quess they're like me , pressed for time or whatever and keep reading and enjoying the post.I also look at total views for the post, some of yours have thousands and think of the ones that comment as your QB friends and your cheerleaders! If you don't mind I added you to my buddy list, now I can find your topics in a flash. :D :D :D Please keep the pictures and visits coming
