ok so I admit I am alittle bit slow.....lol ......everyone on here uses so many initials when talking about things I get lost. I had NO idea what a OBW was and kept reading it......lol....well now I know and oh my my......they are sooo cool. I seen one in a quilt shop yesterday. Now my question is where can I find a pattern to buy? I don't want to buy a book, just a pattern. You guys on here are all sooooo helpful I love this place.
    Thanks Marsha

    Hi Marsha,

The book explains the whole process, talks about how to select fabric and options. And is not very much more than a typical pattern!

Connecting Threads has Maxine Rosenthal & Joy Pelzmann's 'One Block Wonders Cubed' for $13.77 today!

I am not aware there is just a pattern. Amazon has some used which in the long run might be about the same cost as ordering one and paying shipping.

Marsha...I'm in the process of doing one now for the first time and I'm following the tut on this board from Cutebuns.

If you look at this link..the third post down (by Woody) has the links to all the tuts by Cutebuns. Be prepared for lots of reading..but it's worth it :)

OBW is on my to-do list too. The tut by Cutebuns gave great information.

Yes. Check out the tutorial on this board and if you are confused about something, then by the book. Save the money for fabric if possible--LOL.

There really isn't a pattern. It's a kaleidoscope method. Cut 60 degree triangles from 6 identical strips of fabric and sew them into strips of half hexagons. Then sew all the strips together. You have to keep them all in order though or you'll have a mess.

The next level throws in a hollow cube illusion. I'd have to break down & buy the book for that one, though.
