I brought a pdf pattern from Pam Bono and the Angler 2. I am having trouble with my machine eating the corner. What do you do to avoid this. I really don't want to buy a nother plate for the machine.
Thank you for your help.

I would e-mail Pam, she is very good about answering questions about her products.

I fold a piece of fabric. place under presser foot to start sewing the seam, sew off "starter" fabric just like chain piecing. I use a pointed wooden skewer to guide at end of seam. There may be a technical term for the starter fabric, but I don't know what it is.

I emailed Pam Bono and received the best tip. Put a tiny piece of tape over the hole in the plate and now my machine can't eat the corners. I wanted to pass this tip on to others.

What do you mean put a piece of tape over the hole in the plate? I'm curious now. I have eaten a few corners in my life although I'm starting to get in to the habit of starters and enders for an eventual quilt or something. I'm getting a lot of half square triangles made lol.

Great tip! It was nice of Pam to get back to you so quick!

leaders and enders work, single hole plates..

Just put a very small piece of tape over the hole that you needle go into. It works great.

What I do is sew a "leader" fabric before I sew on my piece, seems to avoid the machine eating pieces.
