Morning everyone! I took the plunge yesterday and bought the Janome 6600, but didn't buy the table that went with it. Of course, I'm second guessing myself now and wondering what y'all think. I had intended to order the Gidget II table from Leah Day's site. It comes with an acrylic insert to fit the machine and ships free for about $100 less than the sale price on the Janome table. Which do you think would be the better table or the best value? Have any of you used both? I have the Gidget I table for my Kenmore & thought it was fine, though I didn't have an acrylic insert. Kind of kicking myself right now for not getting the Janome table while I was there as there may not be any left available at the sale price. Sometimes I'm so cheap I hurt myself!

I would do some looking for the Janome table. Mine was only $100 when I bought my machine. If the Gidget is $100 less they may be over charging for it.

BTW, I love the table but have never used the Gidget. JMHO

Personally I would get the Janome table. With the 6600 being a flat bed machine only, you won't use the up down function of the gidget table. Also, the Janome table has a small drawer on the left side. Perfect for storing your presser feet, needles and a few tools. I have the Janome table and love it. VERY STURDY and it does not "jump" if I am sewing a high speed. Also, the way the Janome table is made you will have, albeit small, table space on the left to hold your project and I don't see that with the Gidget.

Just my opinion but hope it helps.

I have both tables and would go with the Janome 6600 table. I actually bought the Gidget II table for my 11000 and bought the acrylic insert with it. The insert is a joke. The edges are quite rough and it doesn't fit smoothly in the slot. Plus the Janome table seems much sturdier than the Gidget and has a drawer. I'm actually using the Gidget table to hold threads and other notions at the moment, not my machine!

I got the Janome table thrown in along with my purchase of the 6600. The table is great ... nice and solid, no bounce, and the machine sits into it nicely. Just enough workspace to the left to be able to make it a nice work station. I do not sew against a wall, so anything that you are sewing would fall off the back edge, as there is not much space behind the machine. To solve this problem, I have another table butted up at the back, that prevents the drag, when what you are working on, falls to the floor.

The drawer is nice ... but not very big! You'll still want more storage at your machine, I'm sure.

I don't know anything about the Gidget table.

You should look at the "sew perfect table". Although there are 3 models to choose from, there is one made specifically for Janome....it is called the J table. The cool think about these tables is that they are height adjustable...which is nice for us short folk, that is why I am about to purchase one - to get my sewing level lower so that I am more comfortable. I bought the gidget I table for $60 the day after Thanksgiving at Joann's - great sale and coupons. It is a very nice table, but it is too high for me.

It has been 3 or 4 years since I bought mine. I didn't realize how expensive they are now. The dealer said list was $1495 for machine and $1695 for machine and table together. He offered me the machine for $1100 and the machine and table for $1200. Maybe $1210 now that I think about it. I was pretty sure I overpaid but didn't want to drive further to look for a better deal. I do love the machine.

Side note is people complain that it is a "quilter's machine." I bought it and used it mostly for garment construction until recently.

Would you believe my dealer wants $579 for the Janome table. I bought my Janome 6600 from them and a Little Gracie II quilting Frame about 3 years ago. They still want $1600 for the Janome 6600. The best price he could give me on the table now was 10% off. I bought one off Ebay and with shipping it was still under $300.

I have the gidget and my acrylic sits flush with the table and it is very sturdy IMHO, I love my gidget table. Its up to you but I would get the gidget and spend the extra money on fabric, but that is just me
