I am looking for examples of old, traditional quilt patterns that are particularly suited to using just red and white and that can be done with jelly roll strips. I just got 2 JRs of red and 2 JRs of off-white because I love the look of those old quilts.

Do you have any examples or ideas of classic blocks or simple JR quilts that would look good in red and white?

Hi Pam,
I am not sure if this would be a jelly roll type quilt (you seem to be able to recreate things so maybe for you! :-) )
I received this antique baby quilt in blue & white and love it...maybe something like this

Thanks for the links, I'll have to look around. An Irish Chain would be interesting though the red JR strips are very much in the same tone of red. Not sure if there is enough contrast in any of them.

Curves aren't a problem... it's not wanting to do them that's the problem. :-P

JR strips sewn together to make larger shapes is a possibility, depends on how it would look in the pattern. I'll have to keep that in mind when looking so that I'm not keeping locked into JR shapes.

I believe there are 10 different reds and 10 different whites (I'd have to look again to be sure) but you get the picture. There is nothing but red on the reds, no other color or white on them, just different shades of red making up the fabric pattern. Same with the white-on-whites.
