Bright, happy colors are what I tend to buy whether I have a pattern in mind at the time or not. I go for contemporary patterns and colors, but batiks are beautiful, too. :-)

I am trying to get larger coordinating pieces of fabrics instead of smaller (must use in scrap quilts) pieces.
When I go to my stash & find a particular piece that will look great, I find I don't have enough of it........poor planning on my purchases! I just purchased 3 pieces of brown/orange coordinates.

I ALWAYS look for neutrals, never can have too many
Batiks are a MUST, mostly bright, bright, sun glassses wearing vibrant colors catch my eye and
Neutral batiks are hard to find and when I do they are super pricey, so they end up staying behind..
Look at Keepsake quilting I got some by mistake. I thought I ordered 1/2 yards of cream neutrals guess the numbers got mixed when i placed the order. I ended up getting 1/2 yards of batik creams and neutrals they were 35.00 for 6 1/2 yard bundle. 3 yards for 35.00 so not terrible...

My new trend is husband thinks I have too much fabric so I'm using my stash and only buying for projects.

I added some larger prints to my stash, bright colors which I have always liked and have a lot of but I like the big bold prints too. Also some more Batiks.

Creature of habit. I seem to get the fabrics I could not afford last year and still buy pieces which I think will fit in with what I already have. I need to get some bigger pieces for backings and stock up on those. I could manage quite a number of tops from the stash.

My trend is this: I see fabric I like, and I buy it! It doesn't matter if I have a project in mind or not. Hehe Although I keep telling myself I'm only going to buy for specific projects.

Patriotic fabrics. I am making Quilts of Valor and I am always looking for new and different patriotic fabrics.

I've been buying FQ & 1/2 yd bundles, a few charm packs & jelly rolls for a few months. Got them out yesterday to inventory...wow! My taste has taken a 180. I'm a floral, traditional, jewel tones person. I now have lots of the modern prints with bright, saturated colors. Yellow & orange? I bought that? That gross limey green? Yeah, I bought that. Stocked up on solid white, a bit of black and, tah dah...gray! This is sooo not me...but I love the modern bright quilts; the gray solid backgrounds; simple patterns or no pattern - just sew & see what you come up with! Love it!
