I took a FMQ class and bought the quilting gloves, I have used garden gloves, they work ok but are thicker, so for the money I think the white quilting gloves are a better buy.

I use them for machine applique. And they can be thrown into the wash when they get dirty.

Oh yes-I cut the tips off rubber gloves and put them on my index and thumb fingers.

I never quilt without them, they are great :!: My hands don't slide when I'm FMQing.

They keep my hands from slipping and help keep the pressure off my shoulders. Also when I come downstairs with them on it's always good for a laugh when I put my hands in the air and say, "Hi, I'm Micky!" (as in mouse)

Ditto, love these.

I've seen the Machingers gloves, but have thought them to be a bit spendy. I use a gardeners glove, a new pair I keep only for FMQ. They are made by Atlas Glove and have a Nitrile coating on the palm side and breathable nylon knit on the back. I had bought a multi pack for garden chores, so had an extra pair and figured I'd use this until it didn't work for me, then try the Machingers. So far these work fine, so no Machingers yet.

As someone stated, they seem to be large, normally I wear medium, but in the Machingers I wear s/m. If anyone needs a M/L I have an extra pair - new in package. I paid $9 for them. I will send them to you, free shipping. You can let me know [email protected] and I will send you an invoice through PayPal.
