Default For those of you who have made 3-d pinwheels

Hi everyone,

I am planning on a baby quilt and I would love to make a 3-d pinwheel quilt but I don't know what size to make them. I want to make it with seven pastel colors. My question to you is, what is your favorite 3-d pinwheel size?

Thanks in advance
Sue

I've been collecting polka dot fabric for a pinwheel quilt. It is in Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting May/June 2011. Total size is 47x47. Blocks are 11". I have not read the pattern all the way thru. From a 4 1/2" strip cut half-square triangles. PM me. This is not 3D.

I thought about making one but after seeing my grandbaby drool and spit up I wondered about it washing ok. Any thoughts from those that have made them?

I use a 4" or 5" square. It shows off the fabric nice and is a bit easier to assemble than smaller squares. JMHO

I don't remember the size but I've done 2 and used the size from the tute here on the board, I think it's "just right"

I made one that I think was made with 6" or 8" blocks. Here's a picture of part of it:
