I realy like the bold prints and colors. I probably haven't made as many quilts with Hawaiian fabric as I would like because most of my quilts are made for some one else and they have other prefferences. Since it is so distinct I would love to see other quilts and projects made with it. Thanks, Anna

I love it too....mostly because William (DH) does...I make all of his Hawaiian shirts now, and I'm saving the scraps from those shirts to make him a quilt with... :)

Wow make shirts too. I have made some mumus mostly for my girls but I have not attempted shirts yet. did you use a Hawaiian shirts pattern or regular shirt pattern.

I hope to post some pictures of the quilts I made later. I can't get it to work right now.

When I get home I'll post the pattern maker and number for the shirt I make for him. It's a super simple pattern, takes me about 4 hours start to finish to make, and I match the fabric design up on the pocket and front panels. :)

I am a Hawaiian print lover too. Always have been. My husband has about 80 tropical print shirts, so you would think I would be sick of them, but nope. I have yet to make a quilt out of them although I do have a nice stack of tropical print fabrics. Someday, someday.

This is kinda sad or demented, not sure, but I think that if my dh goes before me, and I am still able an not too old, I will make my kids quilts out of all his shirts. Actually, I told him my plans and he did say he would start going through them and pull out some to use now, instead of waiting till he is gone. I wonder if I scared him?

I have a friend that was born and raised in Hawaii. She went there a couple of months ago and brought us all back some fabric. It was awesome!!!

I love Hawaiian fabric. I was teaching a Stack and Whack class once and one of the students used a hawaiian print that turned out beautiful. I think it was one of the prettiest ones I have seen.

Great to hear from some others that love those Hawaiian prints. Special thanks to Charlee for the link to the shirt pattern.

Here are some pictures of quilts I made using some Hawaiian style fabrics. These are all quilts I made years ago as it seems I just do not get to making for me quilts any more. I am planning to make a pieced quilt for DS that is helping me with holding up the quilts. He exclaimed how much he loves these quilts so maybe I can sqeeze one in with a star pattern, some thing else he loves, for Christmas.
