I made one, didn't really care for it. I think next time I will cut the strips in half ( 22") instead of width of fabric & mix them up a little more.

Oh, goodness. My first reaction: "Who would even think about a quilt made in the year 1600?" I like your changes and also the pretty Christmas quilts and other creative changes made by people on the board. I obviously need to pay more attention to patterns and ideas.

I don't understand the need to race through piecing like this. There are so many beautiful quilt patterns in the world to work on.

I don't see the point of taking expensive fabric and throwing it together just to beat the clock.

I haven't seen any of these race quilts that I would be willing to have in my home or give as a gift.

JMO

Sometimes you need a quick gift - this quilt is a good pattern for that.
Not everyone "races". I took a couple of days to make my first, original quilt. And I happen to think it eventually turned out quite pretty. I get lots of compliments on it, as you can see from this thread.
