Oh my goodness thats a first for me also,Never heard or seen one do that.I sure am glad they are sending you your money back.I hope the next one does better and last longer than that one.Good Luck.

What brand & model was the washer? Is it one of the newer water saver models? When I was researching washers last winter, I read somewhere about a washer putting a whole in a wall.

Wow! I sure wouldn't go back and purchase the same exact machine again!!! In fact, I'd probably buy a completely different brand! Wow again!!!
