Love your quilt. Thin sashing is soooo hard to keep straight.

Good job, CarolynMT - I like that. I haven't had the nerve yet to try it but that looks nice!

Ok, maybe I'm missing something but doesn't the back look different? Most embroidery I've seen the back looks very different from the front and it's not something I would want my quilt to look like. I want to get an embroidery machine and I'm confused about quilting with it. Maybe if someone showed a closeup of the back of their quilt I could understand it better.

Yes, I use my Brother Duetta 4500 to embroider quilt blocks a lot!

If you look at Eileen Roche's embroidery/quilting class on Craftsy you can see how the quilt as you go looks. I do not like the way the back of the quilt looks and made lots of mistakes on this first try quilt. This quilting makes gorgeous feathers, but is too dense imho. I used cotton batting and quilt was too stiff to suit me.

I have a Bernina and have used it for embroidery quilting mainly on smaller projects. I embroider on my quilt sandwich (the top and the batting) and put the back on with free motion quilting.
