I just downsized to a small place. Needed place to put machine to sew. Found a desk to put in bedroom. Now the surprise!!! There is a pullout shelf for computer keyboard. Great to rest fabric on pwhile sewing. Easy tp lay fabric when ripping a seam. Just now finding new uses for this extension. Of course, it puts me a bit farther away from machine, but I compensated by setting machine closer to edge of desk. Hopes this helps someone.

My DH cut a hole in the top of the desk to fit the machine and used that tray to hold the machine. He did however permanently screw in the tray so that it doesn't slide in and out anymore.

Aren't we a "creative" bunch. We can always find a way to sew no matter how small the space. Good for you
