Finally got the quilt top together..The original pattern from a 2004 magazine was for a lap quilt. I enlarged the patterns and added strips and borders to make it full size. Now still have to decide on a back...I really would like to use my stash, but not sure if I have anything I would like...Really want to use up a lot of my stash, so I can go buy more!! LOL

Heres how far I am so far. Binding cut, label, sewn on, trimed and pinned! I'm threading needles now! It's a little after 2pm.

That quilt was just made using the wonky star pattern, but interlocking the stars. You can find a quilt along for this style here:

http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransso...h-quilt-along/

It's a different take on a pattern that's been around forever. (The wonky star gained popularity when it was used for the Bush Fire Relief quilts some years back)

I hope that helps!!

Let us know how your sewing goes today!! I did do this on Sunday, but it can go the whole week if people want!!

This quilt is a donation for Habitat for Humanity that my employer will be constructing on the 20th. I would much rather swing a needle than a hammer! The quilts shown are so inspiring, love them!
That's so awesome!! I hope you'll share your quilt. I think I'll do this again this weekend, but give better notice of it this time!!

I just read your quilt challenge. It sounds like fun! Maybe I can join next time. I made three scrap string pieced strip quilt tops this weekend sized 43 x 61. I love doing that. They are made entirely from cast off fabric that would have gone to the landfill if I hadn't used it. The scraps were given to me by several people and guild offerings. Now to get them quilted.
I have lost count of the tops I have to be quilted for Linus.
