Well here is my idea...
That area of KY has several beautiful lake resorts and one of them is a State Park. The KY Dam Village State Resort is a short 45 minute drive to Paducah. Here are some of the advantages of looking at this option:
1. State parks are MUCH cheaper.
2. State parks have handicap rooms availabe for those needing it and the parks tend to be much more accessible to wheelchairs, etc.
3. This state park has camps sites for RVs, pop up trailers, tents, etc. as well as a lodge/inn and cottages.
4. There is a lake so the hubbies can come!
5. Kids would have something to do! They even have field trips for kids for like $1 - $3: http://www.parks.ky.gov/findparks/re...rks/kd/groups/
6. We could have a meeting room set up for sewing, tutorials, show and tell, etc. so that those who would rather NOT go in to Paducah would have something to do.
7. Finally, there are members from outside of KY coming to this area specifically for the Paducah show so we would have the opportunity to meet so many folks....not to mention the car pool opportunities for those who don't like to drive!!
Basically it would be like a "Retreat" and/or Paducah Show extravaganza!! Here is the site for the state park:
