Default FMQ stitches ideas for schoolhouse baby quilt

I'm looking for suggestions of FMQ stitches for this school house baby quilt. My mind is drawing a blank. I plan to start with stitch in the ditch and welcome suggestions. Thank you

My only suggestion would be to quilt shingle shapes on the roof and outlining the house part 1/4 " from the seam line. I am sure some one else will come up with much better ideas but just had to put my 2 cents in. LOL BTW-beautiful quilt and love the soft colors of your fabrics.

I would want to add smoke to all the chimneys! Maybe spikey grasses under the houses, and some bushes and flowers near and on the house foundations. Suns in the cornerstones? Different tall trees in the upright sashing pieces?

I was thinking along the same lines. Since you have a low contrast quilt you can add interest by "finishing" the pictures in creative ways: trees, clouds, window panes, doorknobs, shrubs, flowers, roof shingles and the like. You can add contrast by making every block different.

Oh my goodness such great ideas. I also have a "house" quilt that has been sitting around waiting for quilting ideas. Now thanks to Fabquilter for posting, I have direction now. So excited LOL

I think a leafy vine could look really nice in the sashing pieces.
