I have a Baby Lock Evolve.........is that the one you mean? It can hold 8 spools of thread. I have not used it for top stitching or for many of the features it has. I still need some lessons on all it can do. Basically use it to finish seams, rolled hems, things like that. I love it because of the way it threads it self.....with a little help from me.

I have one. I used it to put hems on t shirts, pant hems, most knit stuff. I f you look at the hem at the bottom of a t shirt, thats the kind of sewing its for. It can also be used on woven fabric. It would be a little diffecult to sew on a quilt because of the small space neae tne neddle.

I had a Baby Loc for years, I wore it out. ( I now have a Janome) I used my for garment sewing. I used to make all my Dad's western shirts. As he has 38 inch sleeves and they are usually only found in Big and Tall, and he is a slender man, I made them for him. The serger cut 2 hours off making a shirt. They are great if you are going to be making curtains, any kind of flat work that you don't want the raw edges to show, serging hems and then turning for measurement. Just some of the uses I had for it.
