Default Ideas for Christmas gifts for an avid quilter

My better half has a bunch of quilting stuff including a massive machine that takes up an entire wall and two or more other machines. I'm not looking to spend a bundle because we both would rather buy our own toys. Just a special little quilting gizmo.

How about some suggestions.

How about an elegant seam ripper? We lave local crafty guys that make beaded and carved-wood ones. Or a special thimble holder? I have one that looks like a fancy metal Victorian-style box. Or a gift certificate to a fabric store...better yet, a trip to the store followed by dinner.

If she has a long arm and 2 other machines, it's going to be hard to guess what she DOESN"T have, but here's something fun and useful, and she probably doesn't have one:

It's called a 'sewing bird' and it's great for when you need a 3rd hand, like if you need to rip out a long line of stitches. The whole business clamps to a table, and mouth of the bird is another clamp that holds the fabric.
I use mine all the time (lots of ripping ;-)

How about an hour at a good massage therapist? We have a lady come to our retreats that does chair massages and it really does make you feel like a whole new person the next day.

As an avid quilter I would like nothing better than a gift card to my favorite fabric store. Bet she would also.

How about a stack of blender fabrics in her favorite colors. Can't have too many of those.

I would love a massage and dinner and/or a gift card to her favorite fabric store. I am hoping for the gift card.

After watching Jenny from MSQC use her rotating cutting mat, I want one! Have you thought about making a couple of Quilter's Stillettos? I used the instructions from Quilt ville ( one word, spell check keeps changing it on my ipad) in the tips section to make myself one and surprise, surprise it is really handy. It is perfect for keeping the seam allowances down when sewing over them by machine and is strong enough to remove stitches that I want to pull out of a stitching line. They are made from the metal turkey skewers that come 6 to a package for about $2.

How about a longarm centering tape if she doesn't have one? It comes with neat sliding arrows for centering designs, etc. Google "Longarm Centering Tape" and a bunch of web sites will come up. I got mine through eBay.
