Unhappy Autographs too small to hem

I had a brilliant idea to make my friend an autograph quilt for her 50th birthday...I had just started quilting at the time...I made a roll of white fabric for people to sign but neglected to add the 1/4 in around the outside so people wrote right up to the edge of the fabric...what can I do now to use these signatures and salvage my idea? Any help appreciated.

Maybe do a raw edge applique onto another fabric. I think I would use steam a seam or the likes of it so the edges will not fray too much.

Use a fusable interface on the fabric to stablize, then do a raw edge applique. If your machine is happy with it, you can try invisible thread.

i did the exact same thing on wall hanging. i fused the squares just like the other posts and did decorative stitching so it looked kind of crazy quilty.
