I will be test driving Baby Lock Elissimo Gold on Monday. If you have it, what do you think about it? Love it, hate it, the good, the best, the bad and the ugly. I have to mention here that this will be my first, last and the only machine from now on. I want it to embroider and sew impeccably. For the past 30 years I have been sewing on mechanical machines which I love, but they are sooo limiting. I would like a machine that can do both sewing and embroidery, not separate machines, and the one that can give me an ACCURATE 1/4 seam on its own, and Elissimo Gold seems to be able to do that. I watched all the YouTube videos and I am in love. (I had to keep my mind off my hubby being in the hospital So, help please, give me as much info as you can before I go in the dealer's shop on Monday and make a complete monkey out of myself.

I have the Brother version, the Quattro. They are both fabulous machines. I love mine. Beautiful stitches and embroiders so easy. Best machines out there and the warranty is fantastic. Very user friendly. Find a dealer you can rely on for customer support and you have a machine for life. Get all he classes they offer and don't be afraid to play with it...it is a forgiving machine. If something is wrong it will tell you. Good luck

You can go to babylock.com and do machine comparisons. Click on Elissimo and any other machine. The only difference that would interest me is the ability to size up and down more. However what I found out is it isnt possible with protected designs. Then the price difference is huge. If you are looking for accurate seams Imwould go with a straight stitch machine. I use my Brother 1500 for that and my Ellageo Plus for embroidery which also does sewing. In my opinion, accurate seams cant be left up totally to the machine. It needs a good operator. My Janome 6600 also does that for me. Again, I suggest the online comparisons ton give you info before you are pressured by a salesperson. The Elissimo is also a very heavy machine to lug around, especially for lessons!

I got the Brother version for the Disney characters (Quattro 2) and love this machine. If there was just one thing I would add, it would be an automatic walking foot (like my old pfaff 7510) and not one I have to add (it's big and bulky). Other than that, it has everything I could possibly want, and more. This machine is my dream machine, and it will be my last machine.

The automatic threader is far superior than any on the market, as well as the cutter. The other thing I like is that it doesn't leave bird nests on the back at the beginning of a stitch. (Every other machine I've ever had did this, including my Bernina, and it really was annoying.)

It embroiders beautifully and you do everything right off the touch screen! It truly is an amazing machine.

Now, I need to buy a "Baby Brother" so I don't have to lug this big machine around, and still have the quality, and ease of use. I'm thinking of the Melody.

I have had mine for a year now and it is super easy! Previously I had a Bernina and while it sewed and embroidered fabulously, the embroidery unit was limiting. What a difference this new machine has made in the capability of embroidering lovely designs. You can't beat the camera.

I have the Brother Quattro also and I love it. This and the Ellisimo are very user friendly and stitch great. I wanted this machine when the EmbroidMe shop that I worked at went out of business. I wanted to be able to do some of the things that I could do in the shop like add text, multiple designs, etc. and I can do that with the Quattro. I think you would love the Ellisimo.

I don't have one, but I've sewn on one a few times. I agree that the camera thing is so cool! You can line up your stitches perfectly. I also agree that no other machine threads as easily as a BL. I think the price is pretty good too compared to the other TOL machines. I'm happy with my Pfaff, but if I had money to throw around, I'd get the Ellisimo for embroidery for sure!

Tashana, how did you like the test drive? And if you don't mind my asking, what price is the dealer quoting you? One of our local dealers offered me the floor model for $5000 and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work with our budget!
