I'm looking to buy an Accu.cut, but first I'd like to hear pros and con to see if its worth it, plus can the Accu cut be used without having to buy the cutting dies?

I love mine. I bought it in January, but just now started to really love it, when I bought the 1, 1 1/2, 2, and 2 1/2 inch strip dye cuts. The first one I bought and made a dresden quilt. I like that the strips are cut perfect, and much faster cutting them out. If time is worth anything, like it is to me, just the time saved makes it worthwhile. I bought the larger one, that folds up to carry. I didn't by the case for it though. It is a little difficult to turn, so if you have an issue with strength, you may want to try one first.

I have the Go also, I just love it and the Accuracy is right on! When turning the handle I use my arm----not wanting to put all stress on my shoulder.

"You will love it" I paid 200.00 @ Joann's when there
was a sale.

If this is what you are looking at:
http://www.accuquilt.com/
then you will most likely want to buy a variety of cutting dies for it. It does not cut without a die, and the one that comes with the Go! (home version of the cutter) does not cut multiples of the same shape.

Check YouTube for many videos that show how the Accuquilt cuts fabric. It is a die-cutting system, so you need specific dies to cut specific shapes.

If you are primarily interested in cutting strips and squares, then a June Tailor Shape Cut mat can be a better choice (and much less expensive!). There are YouTube videos that demonstrate cutting with that mat too.

??
The starter die that came with the Go cuts four to six of the same shape with each cut.

I would buy the Go again if it broke. It's as important to me as my sewing machine. I have about every die and keep spare dies of my favorites. My Go is over 3 years old and I haven't babied it at all.
