Get busy, ladies. Get those tops quilted don't let them be wasted.
a true statement and perfectly valid piece of advice. :-)

on the other hand, i once had the opportunity to turn a top made by a friend's grandmother into a finished quilt. it was an honor i don't expect to encounter often in my life.

we've also heard from more than one member who was inspired to start quilting because they wanted to finish an ancestor's quilt.

i don't have UFO's. i have future heirlooms and archeological treasures. (that's my story, and i'm stickin' to it.   )

The sorta good news is when I leave them for awhile my interest becomes renewed and they look better than I remembered so then I finish them!!! :D
LOL!!! Your comment fits me exactly!!! Are you sure we aren't long lost twins??

The quilt I am working on at the moment is annoying me, yet I could not wait to start when I saw the pattern. It is for a bed size, but I have just this morning, after laying out the blocks I have finished, decided that I have done enough, so I am going to finish it as a lap quilt.
I always have more than one quilt on the go, so then I can work on whichever one I want. My most favourite part is the hand quilting, so I do get round to finishing them. My most dislike is layering them. I only have two unfinished tops, and that is because I have the need to do a bit of unpicking on them, and keep putting it off.

I like to keep several thinkgs going at one time and in different stages. That way I can work on whichever I'm in the "mood" for that day or night. Keeps me going on them and that way I'm not tired of any of them.

I can relate!! I love to have my mug of tea close by but I have learned to keep it on a separate little table so that any accidents will cause less damage.

I don't think having too many projects going on at the same time is a bad habit. I think the variety keeps the quilter from getting bored.

Thats not cheating! Its just another way of getting things done!

DH built me a small shadowbox shelf to attach to the wall above my sewing machine. I can put my coffee/tea mug there without the threat of animals or objects knocking it over.

My bad habbit is letting my Studio get so messy that it's not inviting to go in there and quilt. I'm getting better, though.

I must admit that I have lots of UFO's. Some I just don't care for anymore, some just put aside for must do projects, babies don't stay that way for long.so I have to get those done. LOL I put a lot of work into my tops and don't want to ruin them with my lousy quilting, so it isn't cheating to take them to someone who can quilt something worthy of my piecing. I do quilt my own small projects, but my FMQ is just not very good on large projects on standard machine and SID just does not do some of them justice.
