What is the difference between the 505 spray and the K2000 spray, I bought a can of some off brand fabric spray and only used it once, the spray was very heavy. I have only used the K2000 and it is too expensive. I do a lot of machine embroidery and the K2000 works like a dream. Does the 505 disapear like the k2000. I know the 505 is less expensive.

I've had great results from June Tailors from Walmarts in quilting and embroidery. It cost a lot less than the others, doesn't gum up my needle and holds just as well. Yes, I got the 505 and tried it but it didn't hold up as well. Now, I will admit that maybe I didn't put enough spary on it because I know alot who love 505 so I will say that the blue can from Walmarts is just as good and leaves green in my pocket.

I use 505 and love it. My husband helps me when I need to sandwich a quilt. We lay out the backing on the wood floor and use masking tape to hold it in place. Next we lay the batting and then the quilt top. We fold back the top 2 layers to the half mark and spray the batting only. Smooth the batting over the back and spray the top side of the batting. Smooth the quilt top over the batting and repeat for the other half of the quilt. After all is in place, we remove the masking tape and flip over to make sure the backing is smooth.
The best thing about the spray is it can be repositioned if you need to. It will not gum up the needle as long as you do
no spray too heavily. Learned this from experience. I buy it online when I am buying other things and find discounts. I pay approx. 12.00 a can. I can will do about 3-4 throw size quilts.

I owned a commercial embroidery shop and we used 505 to 'lay down' applique pieces and I now use it on my quilt sandwiches. No odor and used lightly, does not gum up machine. Do try to protect surrounding areas or floor/tables will get gummy. For small pieces, use a box turned on it's side as a 'spray booth'.

I just started using basting spray, and so far I'm loving it! although I haven't used it on anything larger than a lap size quilt. It is expensive in Canada, I bought mine on discount at Fabricland, but I noticed our Walmart has it for about $15 a can.

I use it and love it! Would never try to do another quilt without it! I still use some pins too, but nowhere close to as many as I used to without the spray. I get it at Wal-mart for 7 something a can, I think it's Dritz, works just as good. Never had any trouble with machine either.

I buy the 505 from www.sewforless.com. They are nice big cans, at about the same price as the smaller cans. There is a slight odor that I notice only because I'm asthmatic. Bought 2 - 4'x8' - 1/2" laminate sheets at Menards. Put them on the never-used ping pong table in the basement for my table. This setup is perfect for spraying and leaving the room. Cleans off easily with warm water, and accommodates large quilts. Love it!

I love 505. I've tried other brands but for me they don't work near as well. I also wear a mask while spraying.
