When you take pictures of your fabrics for sale, why do you place a coin on the fabric...I am new to quilting and just wondering why?

This is just done to show the scale or size of the print.

The coin gives the reader some idea of the scale; e.g., how big are the flowers in a pattern. Others include a ruler in the picture but this can cover part of the pattern. Hope this helps.

You can use the coin a reference to the size of the print

I take it as a size referance, just as the ruler or camera lens cap. 8D

I often use my little pair of snipping scissors, or a ruler, or something else to show the scale of the fabric.

If there is a glare on the coin, it is a good idea to save it is a nickel or a quarter. It really helps you tell how big the design is before you buy the fabric.
