Now I know what to do with those containers of batting scraps I won't give up. The LQS is selling bags of batting scraps too so if mine don't make the size I need, I'll just go get some of hers. Great idea

Thank you tons for sharing. I need to get started doing this. I have been much better at using the fusible tape to put smaller batting pieces together....fast and easy.

haven't tried the tape, if Joanns was to sell it and i could use a coupon,i may try it..but never had a problem with the way i do it..the bigger pieces i had, i squared them up,and put them back away, for table toppers, or other projects.i got a lot done with the batting yesterday..so happy!

Okay, now you have given me something else I need to do "in there"! Being a longarm quilter, I always have a strip left over at the end (if I am lucky) and the customer never wants it. I pile it in a corner and now my corner is about 6 feet high.
As for those times when there isn't enough batting at the end of a quilt...the tape works great! I grab a slice of batting from my corner and fuse two together....not sure how I made it before the fusing tape...it was a nightmare. I bought a cordless steam iron and that has also made fusing the tape to the batting a real breeze.
I love organization, and I love organized people....I just wish I were one!

Great idea. I keep the remnants when I trim up a quilt that I get back from the long-arm quilter. I use the remnants to practice FMQ.
