I learned how wonderful bees wax is when I started beading and jewelry making several years ago. I use it everytime I thread a needle for any handwork now. Makes the thread just glide and so much stronger.

Hope this helps.
And eventually when you've worn the little wax disk into pieces, you can take them out of the round plastic case, hold them between your hands for a while to warm and soften the wax, then, roll the pieces into little balls or fatter disks.

I use bees wax or parrifin wax. I have a block of parrifin wax on my tray for hand quilting, a piece by the sewing machine for hand sewing. I use it all the time. Either one is great. I have also used old white candles when in a pinch. By using these waxes, the thread does not tangle as bad either.
