I picked up tons of interesting stuff at a couple of estate sales this weekend - and in tossing stuff into bags I came across this. It looks like some sort of template for a sewing machine. There are two little screws - although one is missing. Any ideas?

That looks sort of like the needle plate on a serger.

I have no idea what it is. As soon as you do throw it out, you will figure it out and wish you hadn't. If you think it belongs on a machine, take it to a sewing machine repair shop and see if they can identify it for you.

I know it doesn't belong on a machine I own. I *think* I picked it up at a sale where I just bought fabric and thread. The only machine there was an older Sears Kenmore in a cabinet - the sort with cams for designs. As I was going through stuff I made a point of putting whatever bits went with the machine into the drawers of the cabinet. But, then again, it might have come from another sale where I picked up the Tailor Professional 834. Who knows? I guess it will have a home in my notions cabinet until I find out!

My mom used to have a Kenmore with cams and that does not resemble anything for that. I wonder if it is a part/piece of industrial shelving. Very curious now. Hmmm

Donate it to your favorite repair shop.

That's called "Brownie Points".
