This poem is so cute it's by Margaret DiMare. This lady must have been inside my head when she wrote it out. After you read it you will say the same thing.

My clothes are covered in threads, I知 as happy as I can be,
I知 working with pieces of cloth; I知 making a quilt you see.
My colors lay side by side. I step back to take a look.
I move a few around, then consult my pattern book.
I measure ever so carefully, well this will be a cinch.
Darn, my hand and ruler slipped, I cut off an extra inch.
For each block to be right, I measure, cut and sew.
How I gained that half an inch; I swear I値l never know.
I cut my fabric, pin and stitch; and iron in between.
I can make the biggest mess that you have ever seen.
My stuff痴 laid out in every room, I need lots of space you see,
For making many colored blocks. I hope no one visits me!
I think I値l add some sashing, to make the colors pop,
Stitch that sashing to the sides, pin the border down from the top.
My husband wanders by me and opens the fridge door.
That痴 suppose to signal me that I知 to work no more. HA!!
Next I lay my backing down, I put my batt down on it.
To that I add my finished top, with safety pins adorn it.
It痴 ready now for quilting. This means I send it away.
I rarely quilt the work I致e done; I like it done in days.
When I get my quilt back, I知 awed by what I see.
My pieces of cloth have come to life. I知 so proud of me.
I get my binding ready. I square my quilt in pain.
I知 so afraid I値l cut too much and ruin all I gained.
The binding takes forever when I talk more than I sew.
Next I値l finish that Redwork Quilt, I started long ago.
My clothes are covered in threads, my heart is full of glee.
I worked hard with colors and cloth. I finished my quilt you see.

:) :-)
