Unhappy Bernina Aurora QE440 Embroidery Machine - Does anyone know how to work this machine?

I have a Bernina Aurora QE440 Edition Quilting and Embroidery Machine. Does anyone know how to use the embroidery machine.....everytime I try to use it, I can only get so far and when I push the blue "START" button, nothing happens. I am ready to tear my hair out....
Frustrated to death!!

Hi. Did you press and hold? If you do not hold the button, the embroidery module will not move.

I have the same machine but not the embroidery module. However, I am in the habit of forgetting to drop the feed dogs when I FMQ and the machine won't allow me to do anything with the BSR foot in. Have you checked that?

Also make sure your foot control is unpluged. If you hold your curser over the bottom of the screen right next to the start button it will tell you what is next and what needs to be done. Lower your foot etc. Also look at the front of your machine and see if the start button is activated on the screen. If its not there something isn't right. If not something didn't sinc - so you should start your process all over again turning on the computer, turning on the machine bringing your design into the computer and then sending it to the machine. It can be a finicky sometimes!!

I was getting ready to write a post about the same thing, and saw your post. My 440 worked just fine with the embroidery, and then I got a new laptop. I have had nothing but trouble, and still am. How new is your operating system on your computer? I will tell more in my post.

I have this machine an embroidery arm - haven't used it it a couple of month, my old PC died and this machine does not like the newer PC - I was told to down load drivers from the Bernina site for the new PC (Version of Windows it uses) , but they haven't work yet. When the machine does embroidery, it does a wonderful job.

Look on your screen and see if the blue button is there. If not, then it could be that the design isn't finished loading to the machine. Sometimes it take a minute for mine to finish loading. I love my 440 and use it more than the 220 or the 635. Does your local dealer give classes on your machine? I have found that most dealers do. Also contact your local dealer and see if they have a suggestion. Good luck.

I very seldom use my embroidery module (thinking about selling it actually) but last time I downloaded the newer software from the Bernina web site and was able to use it with my Windows 7 netbook. The only problem was that the netbook's screen is fewer pixels in height than are really required for the software, so I couldn't see the bottom of the screen (and couldn't scroll either). I went back to using my laptop, but loaded the new software on that too and found that the animation on the screen, once I understood it, was the key to understanding what needed to be done.

Can you tell us what you are doing and what your computer screen says? It is quite the step by step process and it may be easier to help you if we know what you are doing. Make sure you drop the feed dogs and unplug the foot pedal and make sure everything is connected where it needs to be. My software shows parts that are not connected properly in red. What software are you using?
I use mine quite often and love it!

I have the Bernina QE440 machine and have not had a problems with the embroidery module. One thing that did help was adding the Version6 update to my computer. Speeded things up
