I was given a Martelli rotary cutter as a birthday present. I love the feel of the ergonomic cutter in my hands, and it helps because I have nerve damage in my hands and arms. I'm still on the first blade I put in 4 months ago, it's still as sharp as new, and I have no idea when I'll have to change it. Obviously, I'm loving it! I used to use Olfa, and thought they were really nice, but Martelli is better. IMHO.

I have always used Olfa for over a few decades. I have never had a problem with one until I hit an acrylic ruler edge. YUCK !!

If you go to their website (www.martellinotions.com) and sign up for their redline direct sales, you will get monthly sales notices. This is different than signing up for their newsletter, it is at the bottom right of their home page.

Redline direct is a sale they have every month with up to 50% off of the specific item that is on sale that month. It might be blades, it might be mats, it might be templates, etc., but if you are considering buying from them, it's a great savings.
Thanks for the GREAT suggestion. I am all signed up. So nice of you to share!

I have tried all the brands of blades there are (including from Harbor Freight), even bought resharpened from a local quilt shop for $3.00 a piece (cheap enough to try). My blades of choice are Olfa and Martelli, they last way longer than anything else that I tested. Yes they are a little more expensive but when you get a lot longer and better cuts, to me it's worth it. I cut something every day. The shop I work in, the owner uses Olfa blades as she gets many more cuts per blade than other brands. JMHO

I have always used the fiskars with good luck. They seem to last a long time and with the 50% off coupons from JoAnn's, that is when I stock up.
