equilter.com is my favorite online. Also use Fabric.com and several others.

Oh, my - the list under my favorites tab is sooooo extensive! I've ordered from just about all that others have mentioned and never been displeased. I've found many using the quiltshops.com search that someone already posted. Can add just a few more from my huge list:

Do you have a name for your fabric? I'd like to go to Quiltshops.com and see who carries it.

Thanks!

the right store will be the one that actually has this fabric...

after that, it will be the one that fabrics in your price range..

asking about the "BEST" online stores is like asking which is the best iron, sewing machines, needles, etc...EVERY reply will based upon the experience of the person giving you the reply! Some LOVE the low end sites like fabric.com, connecting threads, joanns, etc and some LOVE the higher end shops like Hancocks of Paducah, Equilter, etc..

only YOU can know which is right/BEST for you!

Having said that, I have had to shop online for many years...
When I have a special fabric I NEED to find, I always start at quiltshops.com...type in the info from the selvage edge of the fabric I am searching out, and then view the shops that have it...
IF I can not find it there, I go shop by shop starting with stitch-n-frame.net, fabricshack.com, bestkeptsecret.com!

Good luck!

Not sure where in Missouri you live, but I really liked the quilt shop in Hannibal, MO. We visit there a couple times a year and I always make sure I get to stop by.

WebFabrics - www.webfabrics.net. Always really friendly and helpful, carry a great range of basic and blender fabrics, nicely designed website. Packages sometimes reach me in the UK within 3 or 4 days! The only problem I have now is that US postage rates seem to have increased, so the exchange rate has to be favourable to make it worth my while buying from the States now.

Most of the fabric stores online great and their service is great.

I know why you are asking, after doing a fair amount of ordering, these are the questions I ask:
-- what is the quality of the fabric I receive
-- how quickly do they process my order
-- do I get a reasonably prompt email confirmation
-- do I get my order in a reasonable amount of time

I made a substantial order from one online company, nothing was listed as being on backorder, and it took a month to get. I was never notified about when the order was shipped, I was charged a lot for shipping. When I called to check on my order because I did not get a reply to my email, no one could tell me what happened to my order. I have never gone back.

If I know the name of fabric and the manufacturer I look on QuiltShop.com. They search 200 fabric shops all at once. I have had excellant service whenever I have bought fabric from one of their shops.

I also use Piecework fabrics. They have great sales.

I use eQuilter when I am looking for a specific fabric. They seem to have most of what I am looking for
