I have learned to do both the hard way I now have "3" new tools in my S/R=A magnet on a stick and a whisk broom and dust pan from Harbor Frieght Tools for $3.98 way cheaper than paying the ER $380.00 to remove part of a 10 cent needle

I wear thick soled sandals, Earth Works from WalMart, for that very reason! Watch puncture wounds, they are prime targets for Tetanus. When was your last shot?

moral of my story....should it be 'tidy up in future' or just 'wear shoes' ?

I lost a needle once and I was getting ready to steam clean my carpet and found it stepped on it not only once but 3 times before I could find it, had to pull it out with pliers. I wear shoes or sandals now.

Maybe keep a broom by the door to sweep the mess to the side until you are done with the whole project or tie a string to your scissors so they can't fall to the floor!

OOooooo, I was sewing clothing when I was in my 20's and tucked a pair of sharp scissors under my thing, sitting on the floor, and later pulled my other foot up next to that thigh and stabbed myself in the heel...talk about pain...OOoooWeeeee! ! ! !. It smarts!....I hope you feel better soon......

I would default to shoes. Even a pin can attached itself to the soles, but better than your foot!
