Default Thrift Store find

Today I found an unfinished quilt top for $15. It's a Lee Ward Orchid quilt. It doesn't have any tears, the applique work is fantastic. I'll have to add borders to make it queen size (scallops maybe??). The top has never been washed and still has the quilting lines stamped on the muslin.

The only link I could find online to the pattern is this one: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedi...applique-quilt

I envy you - it's lovely. I vote for scalloped border, since it's such a romantic pattern.

It does my heart good to see a fellow quilter has found a masterpiece UFO that they will finish. What a find!

Congratulations! Happy it has found a good home! Usually when you find a vintage top like that, the applique is funky. So glad you found it. It's a beautiful quilt top!

Before you go crazy and invest a lot of time finishing the quilt, wash it first. I purchased a baby quilt that you could see the lines for cross stitch. A year later and many many washes, the quilt now belongs to the dog. The marks never did come out. Good luck with yours.
